Shooting star

Updated: Oct 11, 2019

You need only 3 things, 10 mins and 0 DIY skills to make this toy.

Have you heard of play silks by Sarah Silks. I have seen this product called shooting star by Sarah Silks. It's a Waldorf inspired toy, ideal for open-ended play, inspires creative play. This toy will support your Bubu's trajectory schema, as it's very easy to toss and catch by the silk tail. Soft ball is safe for inside or outside use. Throwing toys with tails allow children to develop their large motor skills.

In this blogpost, I will be hacking this toy and adding my own touch.

Lets make it:

You will need

  1. 1 Plush toy

  2. 1 or many satin ribbon/s

  3. Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Process

  • Cut all the ribbons to 24 inch length

  • Decide the path on which you will like to stick the ribbons

  • Stick the ribbon to the plush toy using the glue gun

  • Cut one ribbon and stick it with glue gun to hide the raw edge of the ribbons meeting the plush toy to make it look neat and professionally made

  • Ta-da! you are set. Enjoy a game of throw with your Bubu

Would love to see how your toy turned out. Here is ours.
