Making this toy is super easy, takes only 10 mins and 0 DIY skills.
It's very intuitive as well as can help with creative play.
This is was a super cool toy, our Bubu adored playing several times with, in our air journey to India. I am sure I am going to use it every other road trip in the future to entertain him. It allows the child to practice containment schema as well as supports any toddlers urge to open and close lids. It's very easy to make, requires zero crafty skills and just 10 minutes of your time.
Lets make it:
You will need
1 Pillbox (Week/7-day-box with individual lids)
7 pompom balls
7 felt sheets (colors need to match the color of pompoms you chose)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Process
Place any one felt on the pillbox and trace the edges
Cut the felt on the traced line
Using the above cut felt as a master guide, cut the remaining pieces
Stick the felt to the pillbox using hot glue gun
Place the matching pompom ball/s inside the pill box
Ta-da! you are set. Hand it to your Bubu, sit back and enjoy watching him discover how to play with it.
It's very intuitive as well as can help with creative play as there are tons of games you can invent with this. Some of the games our Bubu invented were eg: positioning schema- they will line the balls, transportation schema- will use it as a tool to move things, identify the color, match the color, counting, etc.
