Minimalist list - health

All essential baby health stuff you will ever need.

Buying the extensive kit of baby health products, you really do not need the whole shabang.

I have seen most baby registry will have this extensive kit of baby health products. You really do not need the whole shabang. Here are the key products you will need.

#1 Nail clippers

We got Deluxe Nail Clipper with Magnifier by First Years American Red Cross. It cuts nails like butter. The little magnifier is good to have, though I personally have never used it. Two and a half years and still using the same.

#2 Nose bulb

We never brought the traditional bulb as it's proven to be unhygienic as you cannot throughly clean it. We instead brought the The Snotsucker with 10 Extra Hygiene Filters by NoseFrida. Oh what a savior during the winter season! Removes all the snort. You do have to battle your little baby octopus throwing their hands, legs, body everywhere. We till date battle our baby octopus with this contraption, that never gets easy.

#3 Thermometer

We love this thermometer, Digital Infrared Forehead Thermometer by Dr. Madre because it takes the forehead temperature without even touching the skin. It also takes your home temperature which we used to do a lot when Bubu was a newborn. Still working strong.

Not one and done product

The following products will be consumed and are not one and done but nonetheless they are essentials and the brand's I mentioned I have tried and now trust.

#4 Hand sanitizer

We use the Alcohol-Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer by Babyganics. Sometimes when I haven't found any product chemical free I turn to Babyganics as its almost chemical free. Its safe for your as well as your baby’s hand. Initially it was for visitors coming in to see the newborn Bubu, now we use for the entire family when we are on the go and need to eat.

#5 Sunscreen

We use the Sunscreen Lotion 50 SPF by Babyganics. Just like I mentioned earlier sometimes when I haven't found any product chemical free I turn to Babyganics as it's almost chemical free. Started using this after the droll phase ended so almost at one year mark. Still using the same sunscreen. Let me know of any other natural alternatives you found for sunscreen.

#6 Bug spray

We use the Natural Bug Blend by California Baby. California Baby has an all organic, all natural ingredients no chemicals approach just like Earth Mama. Their bug spray really works and it smells good too. We used it for India visit when Bubu was three months old and recently at two years old mark too.

#7 Finger toothbrush

There are tons of options on Amazon, I randomly brought this one. I have such terrible teeth so I still use this (at two and a half) for Bubu after mealtime during rinsing his mouth. Of course this is one and done product to sanitize you can boil it every few weeks.

#8 Toothbrush

Frankly any toothbrush will work. But if I have to recommend one with good product design it's The ToothHugger by SmileFrida. Its angular shape helps brush the back and front of the teeth all at one time.

#9 Toothpaste

My dentist friend advised me to use a toothpaste with fluoride not without like it is advertised. We use Maine Anticavity Fluoride Children's Toothpaste by Toms and Bubu loves it.

#10 Teether

Infant Toothbrush by Baby Banana, hands down. The product design is so ergonomic. Easy to grab for small hands and its curve make the hand to mouth action so easy for the baby Bubu’s. Plus the bristles give a good texture to chew on for the irritated, itchy incoming teeth. Our Bubu loved it. The life of teether phase is around 6-12 months. One teether is more than enough. I have given him this teether lately at two years two month mark, when his molars were coming in and amazingly it still comforts his gums. Of course this is one and done product. To sanitize you can boil it after use.

All product are going strong for the last two plus years and still counting. Hope this was helpful and you found some things to add to your baby registry or your shopping/gift list for the holidays.

If you liked this blog post, you might enjoy other blog posts that talk about what to buy for baby, why I feel it’s a good buy, how we used it earlier and how we use it now. As there are a lot of baby product’s I have broken them down into categories and written separate blog posts on each. Click on the category you want to explore.
