Artwork - Christmas tree stamping

Updated: May 12, 2021

A festive twist to Bubu's new obsession/phase: Tree's.

As its December we made a painting of christmas trees.

Bubu's observation and obsession for trees started few months back and is still going strong. Hence, we have been doing activities and artwork around the topic related to "Tree's". Do check our previous blogposts on the same:

As its December we made a painting of christmas trees this time. I would love to share as it turned out to be fabulous.

Let's make it

You will need

  1. Paper

  2. Paint

  3. Fan-tip brush

  4. Stickers

Process

  • Make different shades of green using - yellow + green = light green - yellow + blue = dark green - green

  • Dip the fan brush to pick 2 or 3 shades at a time.

  • Use the brush like a stamp to retain the fan shape. The fan shape helps it to look like the branches/leaves of a coniferous tree. Your Bubu might need a little hand holding at first for this. It can be little trick for a child to get a hang of it. My Bubu really loved this part and ended up making several trees in a row. Well! So now we are making a christmas tree forest.

  • Let Bubu draw simple lines with a thick brush and brown paint, for trunk.

  • Christmas tree forest is ready in our case maybe yours is just one tree.

  • Then I just squeezed few different colors on a pallet and asked bubu to draw dots on the tree to look like string of lights.

  • We added stickers for ornaments.

Bubu took this artwork for this 'Show & Tell' at his Montessori. This turned out so well and looks so pretty. Hope you will try this too.

Also don't forget to check out our last year's intricate 3D christmas tree.
