DIY continent puzzle artwork.
It's easy to make and is engaging almost like a puzzle.
Bubu has been learning basic geography currently at his Montessori. He love's geography related work, almost every week one of his work contains an activity defining the map of the world. Todays artwork post was inspired by Bubu's interest in geography.
It's easy to make and is engaging almost like a puzzle.
Let's make it
You will need
Colored paper
Glue
Marker/pen
Process
We used a plate to trace a circle on a blue paper. This circle will act as the base for your earth. For this step Bubu drew and cut out the circle. I did some finishing as he still can only cut straight lines.
Roughly draw the continents. Label them with appropriate name's and cut them out for your Bubu.
Now all these peices act like the parts of a puzzle. If your Bubu is familiar with the continents and the earth, then let your Bubu figure out what goes where. If not you can give a reference image from a book or online. Your child can look and replicate. That way you can still retain the puzzle element of this activity. Eathier ways its a lot of fun and keeps them busy for 15-20 mins figuring and pasting the cutouts.
Bubu even added a sun and moon.
Bubu enjoyed sharing his world map at school with his friend for 'Show & Tell'. And also with grandparents/family on our video calls.
