40 weeks of letters

Updated: Oct 11, 2019

A project idea to document your pregnancy.

A project of writing letters, talking to the baby.

In this post, I would love to share another project I did to document my pregnancy.

End of every week I would sit down and write what happened that week. This project is in the form of letters, talking to the baby, telling him what happened in the 40 weeks before he arrived. These letters are a documentation of what I felt emotionally about the baby and the pregnancy, the DIY projects that was on and relevant to the pregnancy stage, any thing new in professional and personal life. All these letters have another personal touch of my hand-painted watercolor fruit or food item related to the baby size of that week. Academically, I have studied Bachelor's in Graphic Design and my Masters is in Industrial Design so this was something that was apt and natural for me.

If you are considering doing something on the same lines try incorporating your own strengths and hobbies to make this a more personalized project as well as an enjoyable activity which you will look forward too. I really enjoyed writing these letters as they were as good as journaling, which is a good way to let all the feelings out and like they say journaling is definitely a therapeutic experience. If you like the idea go for it, I do not know if my Bubu will appreciate these letters but it's a great way to look back and relive the memories of your pregnancy. After all it's such a special, unique stage of life.
